If you spot a big blue ox rolling down the highway soon, don’t worry—you’re not seeing things.

We’re excited to introduce Babe, Paul Bunyan’s legendary blue ox, as the new mascot of Specialty Land Services. You’ll see Babe front and center in our updated branding, including on our first truck wrap, new marketing materials, and across our digital presence.

Babe isn’t just a fun visual. This iconic character says a lot about who we are, how we work, and what we value out on every right-of-way, access road, and project site.

Why Babe? Strength, Reliability, and Big-Job Energy

In American folklore, Paul Bunyan is the giant lumberjack of the North Woods—so big he could clear forests with a single swing of his axe. By his side was Babe the Blue Ox, equally massive, loyal, and unstoppable. Together, they shaped landscapes, carved paths, and moved mountains (sometimes literally) in the stories.

Babe represents:

  • Power and endurance – the ability to pull heavy loads and keep going.

  • Steady support – always at Paul’s side, getting the hard work done.

  • Big scale thinking – tackling huge, complex terrain with confidence.

Those are the same qualities we bring to land services work every day:

  • Managing large, logistically complex projects

  • Working in remote and challenging environments

  • Supporting our clients with reliable, hands-on field expertise

When you see Babe on our trucks or documents, think:“This is a team that can handle the heavy lifting.”

A Nod to the Land and the People Who Work It

The stories of Paul Bunyan and Babe grew out of logging camps and working communities across the northern U.S. and Canada. They’re rooted in:

  • Hard work

  • Ingenuity

  • Respect for rugged landscapes

That history matters to us.

At Specialty Land Services, we spend our days on the ground—walking miles of right-of-way, navigating forests and fields, and working closely with landowners, utilities, and contractors. The Paul Bunyan folklore reflects the culture of people who live and work outdoors, understand the land, and solve problems in the field.

By choosing Babe, we’re tipping our hat to that tradition, while bringing it into a modern, professional land services context.

Babe on the Road: Our First Truck Wrap

Our new truck wrap featuring Babe is more than a branding update—it’s a moving symbol of our commitment:

  • You’ll see us coming from a distance.

  • You’ll know it’s a Specialty Land Services crew on site.

  • And you’ll recognize a brand that stands for strength, dependability, and serious work ethic.

As our fleet updates continue, Babe will become a familiar sight on the roads and project sites

where we operate.

Looking Ahead

Babe is just the start of our refreshed visual identity, but the heart of our company hasn’t changed:

  • We’re still focused on high-quality land services.

  • We’re still committed to safety, communication, and doing the job right.

  • And now, we have a mascot that reflects the scale, strength, and spirit of the work we do.

So next time you see that blue ox on a truck, a hard hat, or a document, you’ll know the story behind it—and the team behind it, too.
